IPSTAR Empowers Schools in China's Remote Gansu Province

Gansu province, remotely located in a mountainous area in central China , for the most part lacks access to modern communication infrastructure and telephone lines. IPSTAR enables seamless broadband internet connectivity for the region's schools and communities.

Euler town, for example, located in rough, mountainous terrain has an elevation of 3,700 meters and is remotely located even for Gansu standards.

China Sat, IPSTAR service provider in China, took the challenge and recently embarked on a rural education project in Euler town—enabling data, voice and internet access via the IPSTAR broadband satellite. The connectivity aims at improving education through eLearning, i.e. information sharing and utilization of knowledge databases for the town's primary schools and students.

China Sat started its rural education communication project in Euler town primarily to improve on educational standards through the utilization of online learning materials. In the meantime, however, China Sat successfully connected several other communities including private households in villages and towns in Gansu , Xizang , Sichuan , Qinghai , and Xingjian provinces, where communities reap the benefits from sustainable internet services including IPSTAR VoIP.
